2016 $25,000 Challenge
Help Us Close the Asheville Achievement Gap
|
Only 26% of Black Asheville City Schools 3rd grade students pass end-of-grade reading proficiency tests
|
Why?
Asheville's City Schools, in a college town, have the largest achievement gap in the State of North Carolina. The reasons are complicated but one solution is simple.
Read To Succeed's early intervention with one-on-one, multi-sensory, phonics-based tutoring gets results. We help students learn to read. BUT: Our waiting lists for each school continue to grow and the Achievement Gap shows little sign of narrowing. Help us Close The Gap. |

Sponsors receive a photo of the coach and student and handwritten notes from both. Periodic status reports (beginning, middle and end of year) keep sponsors abreast of the student's progress throughout the school year.
